Watching the Heineken Cup final on Saturday

Several attendees showed interest in watching Munster playing the final in Cardiff after 3Dcamp.
When we set the date for the event, we were driven by UL’s academic calendar and weren’t aware this will be the day of the big match!
In an attempt to accommodate everyone, we checked what are the chances to watch the match on campus. The Stables, which is the closest pub to the 3Dcamp venue, will unfortunately be closed on Saturday.
The University Arena (at 10 min walking distance) is open and it will be possible to have an after camp pint and watch the match there.
There are several pubs in Annacotty (The Mill, The Black Swann) which are traditional venues for watching rugby matches. The are at approx 10 min driving distance.
As the media talks about 40 000 people coming to Limerick this week-end to watch the match and enjoy the atmosphere, you can expect a big crowd if you’re heading into town after 3Dcamp. There will be two giant screens on O’Connell street, so if you are really into rugby, maybe that’s the place to be!
